NFC East
1.
Dallas Cowboys
2.
Philadelphia Eagles
3.
New York Giants
4.
Washington Redskins
Analysis: Darryl Breckheimer has already proven to be a more active and better GM than real-life
Dallas Cowboys brass, orchestrating a trade to bring in another top receiving talent in Courtland Sutton. I expect this Cowboys team to light the league on fire this season and be extremely competitive.
The
Philadelphia Eagles already seem prepared to follow the Neal Wintermute route of methodical team building -- it worked for him in the SFL and it will likely continue here. This squad is already good and with careful drafting and team management, they might be 2nd place this year, but they'll make a Super Bowl in the next decade.
Romeo Mendez spent enough time fighting for his life as the GM of the SFL
New York Giants that his early strategy here makes sense. He went out and got huge names in Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and Raheem Mostert. He wants to win NOW. The problem is he has Danny Dimes and now Gardner Minshew at quarterback. That spells trouble.
Jayden Daniels has lit the NFL on fire, but he's going to take a big longer to get going here in the SFL. I like the long term prognosis, but Olivier Ratajczak has a bit of an uphill climb as the GM of the
Washington Redskins.
NFC North
1.
Green Bay Packers
2.
Detroit Lions
3.
Chicago Bears
4.
Minnesota Vikings
Analysis: This is going to be an incredibly fun division to watch. Hickman and Brent back with their original SFL teams. Cohen driving the Vikings. Rodany running his Lions. In the end, I think this season belongs to Hickman and the
Green Bay Packers who have a quality roster and an intriguingly strong defense.
Second place only makes sense to be the
Detroit Lions who have quite the talented squad. And fortunately for their fanbase, they won't have to deal with Dan Campbell's questionable playcalling in clutch moments -- they're just at the mercy of 17 year old computer AI....which is worse?
The
Chicago Bears are going to be good in the long run and Brent Lachapelle has made it obvious he plans to build a stout defense. He's traded for studs like Jordan Jefferson and Josh Uche who should turn into quality players alongside their new franchise quarterback.
Last place in 2024 will be the
Minnesota Vikings who are young and inexperienced, despite having a bright future. I doubt they are here for young, but this will be an exciting division for the next 5-6 seasons.
NFC South
1.
Atlanta Falcons
2.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
3.
Carolina Panthers
4.
New Orleans Saints
Analysis: Tom Collins' return to these leagues is going to get off to a quick starter -- it's obvious he wants to win in his one season with Kirk Cousins and bringing in players like DeAndre Hopkins and Patrick Paul show that he is determined to win games now as the GM of the
Atlanta Falcons. Penix Jr. is the future, but this team can and will win right away.
The
Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a better team than their GM will tell you. He's a shifty one....that's how he'll get ya! He's looking at building a stout team and as long as he doesn't stay too attached to the real Buccaneers, I think he'll build a strong squad down in Tampa.
Bryce Young gets another chance with the
Carolina Panthers and GM Briston Redford. An unfortunate draw for Redford in the team draft, but ironically, I don't think they have the worst roster. It's not deep, but there is talent and without a meddling owner like Tepper, it could develop into something decent.
Last place is the directionless
New Orleans Saints. This team is going to regress quickly and they don't have a lot of young stars to build. I imagine Daren Roberts is going to go into full rebuild mode with this team after a tough season. They may have the first overall pick.
NFC West
1.
San Francisco 49ers
2.
St. Louis Rams
3.
Seattle Seahawks
4.
Arizona Cardinals
Analysis: Camden Roe inherited a stacked Titans team in the SFL and he gets another good team here in the GGL with the
San Francisco 49ers. This squad is absolutely stacked, but this time nobody can claim Apolo built it for him. This will be his team alone and I think they have a chance to run all the way to the Super Bowl.
The
St. Louis Rams seem destined to be a rebuild with Stafford retiring. At least Justin Herr gets to be the person who sends him off the pasture. I think they are decent this season, but the moves are already showing that Herr is thinking long-term.
The trade for Tyrus Wheat is a typical Rock Hewko move. The forever
Seattle Seahawks has a bit of a challenge up in the Pacific Northwest, but he should be up to the task if he continues to find raw athletic talent.
The
Arizona Cardinals have been quiet so far. When you look at the roster....it's not good. Phil Mellon will have to dedicate quite a bit of time to make the team good and no matter what he does, it won't be this season.
