2024 GGL Season AFC Predictions by GM Mellon
Here we go, this is my crack at predicting how the 2024 season will go. I want to say at the top, this is based on an injury free season including the oh so extremely important QB spot. To be honest, I think any team who has a long QB injury will find themselves on the outside looking in as the playoffs are concerned.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
AFC North
Best QB: Baltimore Ravens
Outstanding player: Lamar Jackson- Ravens- 27 years old, 98 AWR, 95 THA, 93 THA, 89 INJ, 96 TGH
Best running game: Cleveland Browns
Outstanding player: Nick Chubb- Browns- 29 years old, 91 AWR, 99 BTK, 97 CAR, 90 SPD, 86 STR, 89 ACC
Best receiving corp: Cincinnati Bengals
Outstanding player: Ja’ Marr Chase- Bengals- 24 years old, 95 AWR, 94 SPD, 93 ACC, 73 STR, 96 CTH, 89 AGI, 98 JMP, 86 BTK
Best blockers: Cincinnati Bengals
Outstanding player: Trent Brown- Bengals- 31 years old, 95 AWR, 70 SPD, 91 STR, 86 PBK, 87 RBK
Best defensive line: Cleveland Browns
Outstanding player: Myles Garrett- Browns- 29 years old, 95 AWR, 87 SPD, 96 STR, 86 AGI, 91 ACC, 92 TAK

Outstanding player: Kyle Hamilton- Ravens- 23 years old & 6’4”- 87 AWR, 88 SPD, 91 ACC, 77 TAK, 72 STR, 87 AGI, 78 CTH, 90 JMP
Best special teams: Baltimore Ravens
Outstanding player: Justin Tucker- Ravens, 99 KPW, 99 KAC, 75 AWR
Projected divisional standings:
1st: Cincinnati Bengals- GM Brady Tinnin
2nd: Baltimore Ravens- GM Wade Pearce
3rd: Cleveland Browns- GM Garth Pearce
4th: Pittsburgh Steelers- GM Brad Barber
Comments: I look for the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens to be the teams to beat in the AFC North this season. While I think Lamar Jackson is the best QB (possibly in the league), the Bengals Joe Burrow is going to have a field day passing to Ja ‘Marr Chase, Tee Higgins & Andrei Isosivas. If that is not enough the Bengals 4th WR is rookie Jermaine Burton who already has 90+ in SPD, AGI, ACC, JMP & his 86 CTH is almost at the elite level. If Burrow stays healthy (where have we heard that at before) I do not think there is a defensive backfield who can stop the Cincinnati Bengals. I think there’s going to be lots of WHO DEY’ing in Cincy this GGL season.

AFC East
Best QB: Buffalo Bills
Outstanding player: Josh Allen- Bills, 28 years old, 87 AWR, 99 THP, 89 THA, 99 INJ, 98 TGH
Best running game: This may not be a popular choice but I am going with the New England Patriots. I really like RB Stevenson’s size.
Outstanding player: Rhamondre Stevenson- Patriots, 26 years old, 81 AWR, 89 SPD, 88 ACC, 94 CAR, 85 BTK, 79 STR, 83 AGI

Outstanding player: Garrett Wilson- Jets, 24 years old, 86 AWR, 92 SPD, 93 ACC, 92 CTH, 93 AGI, 86 JMP, 82 BTK, 56 STR
Best blockers: New York Jets
Outstanding player: Tyron Smith, 34 years old, 93 AWR, 91 STR, 96 PBK, 86 RBK, 73 SPD, 74 AGI, 75 A|CC
Best defensive line: New York Jets
Outstanding player: Gregory Rousseau- Bills, 24 years old, 92 AWR, 83 SPD, 90 ACC, 86 TAK, 81 STR, 81 AGI

Best defensive backs: New York Jets
Outstanding player: Sauce Gardner, Jets, 24 years old, 95 AWR, 93 SPD 94 ACC, 93 AGI, 76 CTH, 92 JMP, 65 STR, 63 TAK
Best special teams: New York Jets
Outstanding player: Thomas Morstead- Jets, 38 years old, 93 KPW, 98 KAC, 69 AWR
Projected divisional standings:
1st: Miami Dolphins- GM Scott Gardiner
2nd: Buffalo Bills- GM Felipe Santos
3rd: New York Jets- GM PeterFenger
4th: New England Patriots- Bill Ryan
Comments: I think there will be a battle between the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets when it comes to the GGL’s AFC Eastern division. If you told me there would be just a single game separating these three teams at the end of the season, I would not be surprised. I think the Bills could ride QB Josh Allen all season and do some damage but in the end I think the Miami Dolphins are just a bit too good on defense and ultimately will take the division in a close battle that goes all season long.

Projected divisional standings:
1st: Houston Texans- GM Bryan Mellon
2nd: Jacksonville Jaguars- GM Nate Jones
3rd: Indianapolis Colts- GM Ian Coyle
4th: Tennessee Titans- GM Tim Miller
Comments: This division race will be much close than some have predicted. While I think the Texans have the best QB in CJ Stroud, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence is not far behind. This is the division to look at when it comes to young QB’s with a lot of potential. After Lawrence you have sophomore QB’s Anthony Richardson from Indianapolis and then Will Levis from the Tennessee Titans. All four QB’s in this division are ones to keep an eye on.I believe the Texans combination of good veteran safeties will make it difficult for the other young QB’s in the division and will be a key to the Texans winning this year.

AFC West
Best QB: Kansas City Chiefs
Outstanding player: Patrick Mahomes- Chiefs, 29 years old, 99 AWR, 97 THP, 94 THA, 94 INJ, 99 TGH

Best receiving corp: Kansas City Chiefs
Outstanding player: This might be a surprise but I think rookie Xavier Worthy is going to be an amazing player in the GGL- Chiefs, 66 AWR, 98 SPD, 96 ACC, 81 CTH, 88 AGI,90 JMP
Best blockers: San Diego Chargers
Outstanding player: I really like this Rashawn Slater guy- 25 years old, 87 AWR, 91 STR, 92 PBK, 77 RBK, 75 SPD, 68 AGI, 82 ACC

Best special teams: San Diego Chargers
Outstanding player: Cameron Dicker- Chargers, 24 years old, 84 KPW, 96 KAK, 65 AWR
Projected divisional standings:
1st: Kansas City Chiefs- GM Anthony Cepparulo
2nd: San Diego Chargers- GM Norbert Huszti
3rd: Denver Broncos- GM Will Cook
4th: Oakland Raiders- GM Brandon Lindgren
Comments: If the Chiefs stay healthy, especially at QB, I do not think there will be anyone that can stop them. With injuries though, you are only one play call away from a season altering catastrophe. I think everyone expects Norbert to give AC stiff competition but I think the Denver Broncos and Will Cook could be a surprise team. I really like there defensive backs. I do not think the Broncos are that far behind the Chiefs and Chargers, especially if the injury bug bites San Diego and/or Kansas City.
Stay tuned as I try to do the same thing for the NFC and then end with a playoff and player of the year award prediction sometime within the next couple of days.
