Week 11 Observations

Observations Across the AFC

• No one’s perfect… week 10 saw the GGL’s last undefeated team fall, the Chiefs took it on the chin vs divisional rival Chargers (losing 31-34 in San Diego). The Chiefs lost their starting QB early… Mahomes only attempted 2 passes until QB Carson Wentz was brought in – Wentz performed admirably going 11 of 19 for 219 yards tossing 4 TDs and only 1 INT.
• If the playoffs started today (and they don’t), the Houston Texans would edge the Broncos and Raiders (tie breaker, conference record). I have no doubt GM Bryan Mellon would love backdooring the playoffs whie edging out GM William Cook (sad to see good guy GM Brandon Lindgren lose out to both these clowns).
• Typically, the position of QB is KING in determining how successful a team can/will be… this has me scratching my head seeing the Baltimore Ravens at 4-5 (QB Lamar Jackson), San Diego Chargers at 4-5 (QB Justin Herbert) and Buffalo Bills at 2-7 (Josh Allen). It would seem, at best, one of these teams could turn things around and make the playoffs – but don’t be shocked if all 3 miss post season play.

Observations Across the NFC

• The power of the GGL seems to reside more heavily in the NFC… there are twice as many teams with a record of 6-3 (or better) in the NFC (Packers 7-2, 49ers 7-2, Buccaneers 6-3, Bears 7-2, Redskins 6-3 and Cowboys 6-3) compared to the AFC (Chiefs 8-1, Dolphins 7-2 and Jaguars 6-3).
• Week 11 is a can’t miss football… we may have a chance to watch playoff football – specifically, NFC playoff matchups! The Chicago Bears (7-2) visit Green Bay and face their divisional rival Packers. And, we’ll also see the Dallas Cowboys (6-3) visiting Washington and face their divisional rival Redskins (6-3).
• And with the FIRST overall selection in the 2025 GGL draft, the St Louis Rams select QB Jamal Castille! That’s right, it seems an almost certainty that the Giants will have the worst overall record… the QB play has been dreadful and there’s no way they turn thing around – at this point, it would seem Castille offers all the tool the Rams would want leading their team. ~ The Giants traded away their 1st ri7nd selection to acquire WR Puka Nacua! ~
