GM Mellon’s WILD CARD 2025 predictions
By Bryan Mellon
Special to ggl-football.com

This won’t be a very detailed article but here are my predictions for the wildcard round of the 2025 GGL playoffs:

San Diego Chargers @ Jacksonville Jags
Here we have GM Norbert vs GM Nate, both former SFL champions. The Jags have been dominate this year albeit with a fairly quiet roster. I really like their balances both of offense and defense however I am going to predict an upset and believe Norbert is going to have his team at peak performance and squeak out a victory 20-17.

New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns
GM Fenger vs an OG GM in Garth. I have said it season after season, Garth is one of the best GMs our leagues has ever seen. Peter though is a former SFL champion who put in a great season while getting quite a bit of subpar player from his QB. If QB Rodgers can put in a solid game the Jets could make some noise however I am going with the OG in this one. I’m predicting the Browns win 24-14.

Atlanta Falcons at San Fran 49’ers
The 49’ers may be the best team in the league if you look at player vs player. They have it all however at times this season they have failed to show up. The Falcons are GM’d by another guy who can say he can make a claim to be at the room of the list when it comes to the best GM in the history of our leagues in Tom. I think Tom’s knowledge and experience propels him over Cam in this one. I predict a Falcons victory 31-17.

Washington Redskins/Commanders at the Dallas Cowboys
What a rivalry, right? Historically, in the SFlL this had been a long one sided war. (BTW, is asked I am quite sure I could write one hell of an article on each victory the dominance the SFL Redskins/Commanders had over the Cowboys- feel free to ask, really please ask!). This is a new league though and I think GM Brecks team which is led by a veteran QB is too much for the rookie QB led Washington team. I predict the Dallas Breckboys come out on top 27-10.

Good luck to all who play in this round of the playoffs.
