Saints "Release Me" Nathan Shepherd Wanted Out of New Orleans

 In a salary cap move, DT Nathan Shepherd was cut by the Saints today after 8 years in the league.

A statement from the GM Daren Roberts read, "He's just too old to compete at a high level. This move was necessary."

Coach was not available for comment.
